RACE INSURANCE

→ What is RegShield?

RegShield, a FanShield product, is registration protection for event participants who can opt-in to purchase RegShield during registration. Unexpected circumstances can happen, RegShield lends peace of mind by reimbursing the cost of you registration price, should you be unable to attend their event due to several covered reasons including accident, illness and family emergency. 

→ How do you get coverage?

Add-on coverage is offered during your race registration. Your race Insurance premium is 8.1% of the registration cost.

→ How do you file a refund request?

Filing a refund request with RegShield is easy. Select the “File A Refund Request” at the bottom of the confirmation email. Alternatively, you can visit RegShield’s Webpage. *For the best experience, it is recommended that a desktop or laptop computer, rather than a mobile device, be used when filing a refund request.

→ How long is the refund request process?

Once a refund request and appropriate documentation is submitted, the process takes approximately 5-7 business days.

→ How long does a consumer have to file a refund request?

For a domestic plan, the refund process must be initiated within 30 days of the first occurrence of a covered reason. For an international plan, the refund request must be made within 45 days of the event.

For those who have registered, did not opt into race insurance, but cannot participate this year, we offer you two options:

1. Transfer your Bib to Anther Registrant
2. Switch Races

BIB TRANSFER TO ANOTHER PARTICIPANT

• The cost to transfer your bib to another participant is $30
• Bib transfers will be available October 2, 2024 through Expo close on June 28.

RACE CHANGE

Changes between events are allowed, subject to the following:

• You can upgrade or downgrade a currently registered race, as long as the caps have not been filled in the race you wish to change to.
• All changes must be made prior to the close of the expo on Saturday, June 29.
• The cost to change races is $30

DEFERRAL

There are no deferrals to 2026.

One of the primary purposes of Run Wild Missoula, Inc. (“RWM” – organizing body of the Missoula Marathon) is to provide its members and other participants with the ability to participate safely in RWM races, training runs and track workouts. These events are, at times, at the mercy of the unforeseeable circumstances that are beyond RWM’s control. As such, RWM must have the ability to postpone or cancel these events when health and safety concerns (or other unforeseeable acts) warrant. You can read more about our cancellation policy here.
